In this kind of glass level gauge, the liquid is contained within two smooth glass and can be observed easily. To improve visibility, an illuminator can be mounted on the back of the level gauge. Transparent level gauges can be used for measuring both total and interface level of liquid. In steam services, protective mica shield can be used.
